He spoke by paying floral tributes to Rava's portrait
All the arts are capable of giving supreme joy to life. But once you fall under the spell of Hindustani classical music, it leaves a hold on your mind that you cannot get out of it. Although Gangubai's mother was a wonderful Carnatic singer herself, she was obsessed with making her daughter a Hindustani singer. Like Mahatai who stopped singing so as not to disturb Gangubai's song due to Carnatic music. Gangubai's achievement was his mother's dream. Gangubai's mother has proved the role of parents in instilling and nurturing interest in music and literature in children. Like the life of all girls, the way a woman rises to the pinnacle of achievement amidst the seven falls of life is amazing. It is thrilling to see all the great honors of music fall into the lap of this little life's greatest achiever. So remembering such a great singer is a very honorable thing.
The State Government has named the University of Music and Performing Arts after Gangubai. It can keep Gangubai's name alive among young minds again and again. We are proud that it is in Mysore. The government has to fulfill the responsibility of making this university strong. We have a responsibility to pass on the legacy of Gangubai's music to the next generation. Such a program can inspire young minds like us to such healthy thoughts. So congratulations to the organizers. Gangubai Swara Gange. Ninety-seven years of life were filled with so much music. It is recorded on one hand that many ridiculed him for his hoarse voice due to throat surgery at an early age. He opined that Gangubai, who won many honors like Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Honorary Doctorate, is a giant talent who can always be alive among us.

Later, Municipal Corporation member Ma V Ram Prasad spoke and today Dr. Gangubai Hanagal's commemoration was held here. It is a pleasure to be a part of it. There is no one in the state who has not heard the name of Gangubai Hanagal in the state. In our cultural capital Mysore, 1 music university has already been started in his name. It was meant for service, today it is becoming commercialized, the government needs to give more encouragement to the students, in the past there was a music teacher in the school.
Now missing hence the demand to encourage art in children from an early age
