Former CM Siddaramaiah insists on judicial probe into PSI scam

Since the PSI appointment scandal does not have to be handed over to a judicial inquiry, the High Court justices should be investigated and punished even though they are the most influential person in the scam. Siddaramaiah, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, has urged the government to dismiss the cabinet and ensure that the investigation is conducted impartially.

Here is the full text of the letter he wrote to the Chief Ministers.

The CID was handed over to the CID on 10-4-2022 after some media and opposition parties released documents on the sub-inspector recruitment scam. We were still opposed to the CID investigation. The main reason for this is that powerful figures in the government are involved in this case. The CID did not have the courage to interrogate him and demanded that a judicial inquiry be conducted under the aegis of a state high court.

I was angry about this in the last session. But the case was not handed over to the judicial inquiry for fear of being subjected to government. Now we are told that the CID does not have the power to investigate powerful whales. To date, not a single influencer has been investigated. Even though there are many witnesses in front of the public eye and the people are asking a lot of questions, the government does not take it seriously and investigate. If you look at this, it looks like a scammer who is slowly strangling the whole scam.

The government has worked to assert that there have been no scams in the appointment. Home Minister Aaruga Gnanendra himself lied during the assembly session that there was no error in the appointment of PSI and there was no scam. Evidence has emerged that it is imperative that you conduct the investigation into the CID. So you put in the investigation. But what if the CID has so far achieved the investigation?

The CID investigation revealed that one PSI recruit was paid Rs 30 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. You arrested a handful of little ones who paid for the recruitment and worked as middlemen for the money. But it has not yet been revealed whose money was in the hundreds of millions. The big heads of money have not been arrested for the moment. Nepaku has not been investigated. Not even a notice was given. 10 per cent of the bribe money has not yet been seized. However, our party legislators who have been vocal about the scam have issued a notice on notice and struggled to avoid the direction of the investigation.

Several lawyers, civic organizations and anti-corruption fighters are directly involved in the PSI scandal of five ministers. These five ministers belong to hundreds of crores of rupees. The son of a former chief minister has been directly involved in the scam and has made direct allegations that out of a total of 514 PSI posts, more than 63 candidates have been recruited. But the CID alone is not taking this into account. The CID has so far not issued a notice to them. But only our party legislators who have tried to expose the scandals have issued a notice from above. Until now, it has not worked to reach the ends of the scandal, such as Vidyasudha. What does it mean The investigation is ongoing to protect whom.

The CID is investigating the public eye only for the sake of it. Whose hands belong to the millions and billions of money earned by each post? Lower-level officials cannot swallow hundreds of crores of rupees without the knowledge of big heads of government. So far, no one has been arrested except the guilty officers. The money they received was not seized. Thus, it is certain that the CID is investigating to protect the big heads. It seems superficial that the investigation is not being carried out boldly and transparently. Siddaramaiah, in his letter, said, "These kinds of probe cannot be punished."
